The only tool that turns MIDI into real instrument audio

Turn your MIDI into real instruments

Upload a MIDI file, describe the sound you want, and get a studio-quality recording that follows your exact melody — real strings, guitar, keys, vocals, full productions.

No DAW required · Keeps your exact melody & chords · Full song or single stem

Hear the difference

One MIDI in. Real strings out.

Press play on the raw MIDI render, then on what Rifly did with it. Same notes, same timing — performed as a lush cinematic string ensemble.

How it works

From MIDI to a real performance in three steps

No sample libraries, no plugin tweaking. Describe it and Rifly plays it.

Step 1

Upload your MIDI

Drop in a MIDI file from any DAW or notation app. Your melody, chords, and timing come along exactly as written.

Step 2

Describe the sound

"Warm cinematic strings", "fingerstyle nylon guitar", "lo-fi keys", "soaring pop vocal". Plain English — no presets to hunt through.

Step 3

Get real instruments

Rifly re-performs your MIDI as a studio-quality recording that follows your exact notes. Export the full mix or a single stem.

Features

Everything a real performance needs

Built for musicians who care how the part actually sounds — not just whether the notes are right.

Follows your exact melody

Not a vibe-alike. Rifly locks to your MIDI's notes, chords, and timing, then performs them for real — your composition, played by an ensemble.

Real strings, guitar & keys

Render the same part as a string section, an acoustic guitar, a grand piano, an analog synth, or a layered full production.

Believable vocals

Turn a melody line into a sung lead or harmony stack. Describe the voice and delivery and let Rifly perform the tune.

Isolate a single instrument

Only want the strings? Ask for "just the real strings" and get a clean, isolated stem that sits perfectly in your own mix.

Iterate with "work further"

Not quite there? Keep the conversation going — refine the take chat-style: brighter, slower, more reverb, swap the instrument.

Full song or single stem

Generate a complete arrangement from one MIDI, or pull individual instrument stems to drop straight into your session.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How is this different from Suno or Udio?+

Suno and Udio generate music from a text prompt or a hummed idea — they don't follow your actual composition. Rifly starts from your MIDI, so the output plays your exact melody, chords and timing. You stay the composer; Rifly is the band.

Why not just use VST instruments in my DAW?+

VSTs are sample-based and tend to sound stiff and synthetic, especially on expressive parts like strings, brass and vocals. Rifly re-performs your MIDI with a music model trained on real performances, so the phrasing, dynamics and tone feel human.

Does it really keep my melody and chords?+

Yes — that's the whole point. Rifly renders your MIDI to audio first, then re-performs it in the style you describe while staying locked to your notes and timing. Play the samples above: same part, real instruments.

Can I get just one instrument as a stem?+

Absolutely. Use isolate mode and name the instrument — "just the real strings", "only the upright bass" — and Rifly returns a clean, isolated stem ready to drop into your session.

What file formats do you support?+

Upload standard .mid / .midi files exported from any DAW or notation software. You get back high-quality audio you can download as a full mix or individual stems.

Is a VST plugin coming?+

Yes. A Rifly VST that runs this workflow right inside your DAW is on the roadmap, and Pro members get early access when it lands.
